Amanda Smith, Principal

Amanda Smith has been an educator since 2001 and the proud principal of Stoner Creek for Elementary School since 2018.  She holds a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a Master's of Education in Instructional Leadership. Smith served as a 2nd grade teacher, a 4th grade teacher, an instructional coach and an assistant principal before taking on the role of head principal. Smith has received teacher of the year awards and was named Wilson County School's Principal of the Year for the 2021-2022 school year. Smith's leadership traits revolve around communication, being transparent, and gaining input.  Ms. Smith strives for Stoner Creek to be a joyful place for staff and students to work and learn. Her motto is "1035 the Place to Thrive!" Her mission as a leader is to know her people, show them care, and grow them individually. Together we can make a difference each and every day by remembering the power of five: COURAGE, GROWTH, LOVE, SUPPORT & FUN!

Ms. Smith truly loves her school!  Not only is she busy leading the best school in the nation she is an active mom of four daughters.

Kelly Vallas, Assistant Principal

Kelly Vallas started her career as an educator with Wilson County Schools in 2008.  She holds a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, a master's degree in Science Education, and an education specialist degree in Instructional Leadership.  Mrs. Vallas served as a biology teacher at both Lebanon and Wilson Central High Schools prior to becoming an administrator in 2015 at Mt. Juliet Middle School.  In 2019, she assisted in opening Gladeville Middle School, where she served until 2024.  Mrs. Vallas prioritizes building relationships within her school community and firmly believes that all students are capable of great things.  She is married with two children, who are just as excited about joining the Bobcat Family as she is!

 

Nikki Collins, Assistant Principal

Nikki Collins is no stranger to Wilson County Schools as she grew up here and has always aspired to be part of our education system. She holds a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a Master's of Education in Educational Leadership. She began her career in Wilson County in 2014 as an RTI EA and has since served as a 1st grade, 2nd grade, and 3rd grade teacher at Rutland Elementary prior to transitioning to an administrator role Stoner Creek Elementary. Additionally, Mrs. Collins has been a Summer Site Coordinator for our Summer School Program since 2021. She is committed to serving students, staff and the school community with dedication, initiative, and willingness to learn. 

 

She is married with two children and a fur baby. She is so excited to join the Stoner Creek family!
